What I want everyone to know is, everyone’s time is different. Please don’t focus on what everyone else is doing. Focus on your journey, your grind and what you need to be doing for yourself. Just because someone achieved success before you, doesn’t mean that you don’t get to where they are.
Another thing is, what other people are doing may not work for you. Carve your own path, go your own way, drive down your own road. If you’re driving down a road in the same car as everyone else, you won’t stand out from the crowd. While everyone is driving a Honda Accord, drive a Honda Civic or a Nissan Altima. Be different, don’t follow what everyone else is doing.
The one thing I never did was go doing what everyone else is doing (creating an email list, writing the traditional way, wasting money on Facebook and Amazon ads). Yes I’ve gone down the road of spending money on ads but it doesn’t work in the long run. It all phases out and you’re back to square one.
The old traditional way of doing book signings and readings is the way to go. It’s meeting people, building relationships and establishing yourself. It’s great to have social media and share your experiences and content there but there’s nothing like meeting people in person, shaking hands, taking pictures, and having engaging conversations.
I never doubted or watched other people’s success and became envious. I always knew that my time was coming, I had guardian angels watching over me, people in my corner telling me to keep going, continuously showing GOD the work I’m doing on his behalf as he has blessed me with the talent and ability to write the stories I do.
Everyone’s journey is different, I’ve chosen to go down my own road and carve my own path. I decided to leave the confines of my home state and move somewhere, where the opportunities will be there and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Stay true to yourself and let the chips fall where they need to.
That’s my blog, I hope it was insightful. Be good everyone and go accomplish your goals!
