Love the Journey, Not the Money

We live in a capitalistic world, there’s no getting around it. While we want to do well, succeed and make a lot of money in what we’re passionate about, what we can’t forget is, we have to love the journey first, not the money that comes with it. Of course a lot of us want to be rich but sometimes that’s not all it's cracked up to be.

Seeing celebrities with millions of dollars but look stressed, tired and going through the motions. Money isn’t everything, it’s just a tool that helps us to live better and more comfortably than others, that’s all. It’s why we shouldn’t idolize those that we don’t know what they did to achieve what they have.

When I say we should love the journey, it’s about motivating and inspiring others. Being in your truth and knowing that you can help others. It’s being true to who you are and not a facade of what the world wants you to be. It’s important to always be focused on your purpose and journey no matter what it is.

Being a writer is something I’ve always done but didn’t take seriously enough. When I finally decided to take it seriously, I didn’t know what I was capable of and here I am. I’ve loved the journey I’m on and I’m at a place where I don’t check to see how many books I’ve sold online anymore. I don’t necessarily count how much money I make at book festivals either, it’s about meeting people, building relationships and establishing connections.

If you’ve ever seen people who chase money, they end up unhappy in the end. Especially when the goal and intention is to live a certain lifestyle to boast about on social media. The journey will always be about improving, growing, learning, achieving, focusing on the present moment, and everything else in between that matters.

The money will come if you’re a good person with great intentions, I’ve learned that along the way. Focus on your journey, stay positive, have a good supportive team around you and you’ll surely go a long way.

That’s my blog for today, thanks for reading, be good and go accomplish your goals!
