It’s officially 2024 and the question is, what are your goals for this year? What are you striving for in regards to your goals and aspirations? I hope you didn’t wait until the new year to start pushing toward your goals. I hope you started working on them last year and it’s rolling over into the new year.
If you’re starting the new year with goals, that’s good, you’re off to a great start. If you don’t, have you not taken the time to think of them yet? Is there a delay and you need time to hash them out? Don’t forget to write them out so you can see them and check them off as you accomplish them.
Whether you set goals weekly, monthly, yearly, or a combination of all three, be sure to keep writing them down. Or maybe not even writing down goals right away, but writing down “to do list” on paper, in your phone or a widget. I use a widget on my phone and as I complete them, I remove them. I’m still old school with writing things in my notebook to visually see my list of things I want to do.
Did you notice, I said things I want to do? We tend to always say, “we need to” do things. I’ve worked on changing the verbiage of things that I say and how I say them. Sometimes there are things I need to do (cooking, cleaning, buying food, laundry, etc.) but when it comes to our goals, they should be things we want to do.
Your goals this year should excite you, motivate you, inspire you, want you to get after daily (while taking breaks when needed). Even if a goal is to be the best version of yourself, setting boundaries for yourself, doing things you want to, those are great goals. It doesn’t have to always be a new job, more money, those are the cliche goals that a lot of us set for ourselves.
Let’s take a look at ourselves inward and start there, then we can set the goals we want for this year. Don’t doubt yourself, don’t sell yourself short and make sure that you’re fulfilling yourself. Continue to strive for greatness within yourself first and then others after.
Thanks for reading my blog to start the year! Let’s be great this year! Be good and go set, accomplish and crush your goals!
